Connections are the glue that holds the machine of life together. And connections in the church are also important. The Bible talks about the church as a body that works and moves and functions together. A body cannot function without the proper connections. Over 200 bones are properly connected, along with muscles, tendons, veins and organs and nerves, all connected to make a fully functioning machine. How well would our feet work if they weren’t connected to our body? And how well would the rest of the body work if it didn’t have feet?
If the church is a body, then it will only be as strong as its connections. That is where you and I come in. We, the parts of the church, are to be connected in a way that binds and unites the church to move efficiently. And the beauty of the church, is that this body is always looking to grow through making new connections.
Beginning Sunday, September 7th, our new Sunday School series will address the level of connectivity each person has with the church. It will also address the level of connectivity our church has with our community. I encourage everyone to join in this study. If you have not connected with a Bible Study of Sunday School class, the first Sunday of September is the perfect time to start. See you there at 9:30am as we all investigate just how much connection matters.
